allowing twitter, fb, google to be authentication systems was a huge mistake. i have not once used them, and abandoned any site that didn’t let me use email. migrate your logins away from *all* of these services asap.

all of these services are capricious about banning accounts; you say the wrong thing and you are locked out of all your other accounts. the convenience is absolutely not worth it.

@0xAFAEBABE Absolutely right -- I've never been comfortable with that since FB Connect began -- and we can also run OAuth2 software ourselves to provide delegated authorization without corporate interference. Of course that's a whole new landscape of complications now under the scrutiny of people much smarter than myself. I'm hoping we'll see progress by next year.
