@matoakit Of course -- I certainly didn't call it a *good* reason; none exist. But we should acknowledge the material conditions that add up to new events, and real-world thresholds of national & diplomatic hegemony. Hitler needed a fire in the capitol building; the US needed three hijacked planes. Russia eschewed rationalia and it hasn't gone so well. This acceleration is opportunistic.
